    The course under consideration is:  

    (NUT200) Principles of Nutrition

    This course presents basic scientific principles as they apply to human nutrition in maintaining health and preventing disease. Biochemical functions and interrelationships among nutrients in the body are examined. Contemporary nutritional controversies are evaluated.

     

     A Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food Science or Public Health is required to be considered for this opportunity

    Responsibilities

     

     

    • Develops and provides students with an approved Carrington College syllabus that follows a template established by the college and includes the terminal course objectives.
    • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
    • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
    • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
    • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
    • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.

    Qualifications

    • A Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food Science or Public Health is required to be considered for this opportunity
    • Minimum of one year teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred, preferably in an online or hybrid environment
    • Three or more years of directly relevant professional experience (working in food science, nutrition, or as a dietician) is required
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
    • Must be able to facilitate diverse groups
